EU international trade by modes of transport in 2022

According to Eurostat, by the end of 2022, 46 goods accounted for sea transportation to the EU in value terms, in quantitative terms this share was 74.

Air transportation in the reporting period provided 26.3% of the export flow of goods from the EU in monetary terms. Imports by this type of transport in monetary terms amounted to 15.9%.

Exports from the EU by road in 2022 in value terms reached 23.4, imports - 16.1.

Rail transport in the international trade of the EU occupied an insignificant share: exports in monetary terms amounted to 1.4%, imports – 1.6%.

Other modes of transport, including pipeline transport, accounted for 9.3% of exports and 14.9% of imports.
