Cargo transportation in China in the first half of 2023 is growing

In the first half of 2023, the volume of cargo transportation in China increased by 6.8% compared to the same indicator last year and amounted to 25.93 billion tons, Xinhua news agency reports, citing data from the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China.

Transportation by road in January-June of this year in China increased by 7.5% to 19.01 billion tons.

About 3.28 million tons of cargo were transported by air, 6.4% more than a year earlier.

Cargo turnover in Chinese ports increased by 8% and amounted to 8.19 billion tons. The volume of container traffic through Chinese ports has reached 150 million TEU (+4,8%).
