Russia and Belarus have agreed to phase out permits for road transport

26 october

# Market News

On August 18, the Russian Ministry of Transport signed an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on international road transport.

Currently, transportation between the two States is carried out without permits, except for the transportation of goods to and from third countries.

The agreement provides for the gradual abolition of the licensing system, which concerns international road transport of goods to or from third countries.

The cancellation will be carried out in stages, starting from January 1, 2024 and ending on January 1, 2030.

In practical terms, the document will also regulate the performance of cabotage transportation and simplify the access of Russian and Belarusian carriers to the markets of third countries.
