OOCL's net profit in the first half of 2023 decreased by 80%

OOIL, the parent company of OOCL, has published operational and financial figures for the first half of 2023.
Revenue for the group decreased by 58.9% to almost 4.5 billion dollars, EBITDA – by 74.7% to 1.6 billion dollars, operating profit – by 80.2% to 1.1 billion dollars.
Operating cash flow was $548 million.
Profit attributable to shareholders decreased by 80.1% to $1.1 billion. Earnings per ordinary share in the first half of 2023 amounted to $1.71 versus $8.58 per ordinary share in the first half of 2022.
Net profit amounted to $1.1 billion, 80.1% lower than a year earlier.
The volume of traffic in the first half of 2023 decreased by 1% and amounted to 3.6 million TEU with an increase in carrying capacity by 4.7% to 4.4 million TEU. The capacity of the fleet involved was 847 thousand . TEU (+12,6%).
